RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) is the MINIMUM amount of vitamins and minerals that you have to take daily. For this reason, one may take vitamins and minerals in doses greater than 100% RDA. Both the RDAs and the maximum intakes allowed in food supplements have been established by the Ministry of Health. These maximum doses are safe and do not cause any toxic effects or accumulation problem, as the dosages established by the Ministry of Health are always below the UL (tolerable Upper intake Level). The UL is the maximum daily amount that one may take on a long-term basis without incurring any side effects.
