If we are "happy" with the minimum amount of the daily intake allowed (RDA) for this vitamin, we can just drink a glass of orange juice every day.
On the contrary, if we wanted to take 500 mg of vitamin C, which corresponds to 625% RDA (maximum intake set by the Ministry of Health for food supplements), we should consume about 1 litre of orange juice every day.
If we instead resort to a vitamin C supplement, besides avoiding the risk of running into problems related to stomach acidity (due to the citric acid present in oranges), we can also achieve good cost savings (indeed, to obtain 1 litre of orange juice we would need approximately 10 oranges per day).
